For Current Students
The department of education prepares undergraduate teacher candidates and practicing teachers to facilitate the learning of all students, enabling both teachers and their students to act as informed, involved, principled, and productive citizens and leaders over a lifetime.
Our program focuses on preparing you to facilitate the learning of all students. Becoming a facilitator who affects student learning invites you to learn the complexity of teaching. The teacher preparation program defines this complexity as being comprised of four components: Planning and Preparation, Instruction, Classroom Environment, and Professional Responsibility.
The department of education's teacher preparation curriculum has been redesigned to meet the latest State standards and best practices for preparing teachers for our nation's schools.
