Art makes your imagination soar! The 9/11 Commission found that one of the most critical skills missing from American preparedness was the “exercise of imagination.” (The 9/11 Commission Report 2004, 339, 394.) In studio art, art education, and art history, we provide students from all areas of study serious opportunities for exploring visual media creatively and intellectually.

In studying art, you will

  • learn traditional and contemporary media
  • engage in analytical, critical and abstract thinking
  • learn to communicate ideas visually

If you get involved in art activities and courses, you will

  • attend art gallery and museum openings and exhibits in Naperville and downtown Chicago
  • hear talks by and meet visiting artists
  • enter juried exhibitions
  • gain an academic foundation for graduate study in studio art, art education, art history, art therapy, arts administration, art criticism, and visual communications
